Monster Craft: Movie Premiere Party and Banner

Reed is OBSESSED with Monsters Inc!  When he found out that they were making Monsters University, he was so excited!  Kyle keeps showing him the preview on the computer.  Reed has never been to a movie in the theater.  He’s been begging me to take him once Monsters University premieres.  I thought it would be fun to whip up a little Monster craft for his first movie!  Check out his Movie Premiere Party!

Before Reed left for daycare, I dressed him in his new Monsters University T-shirt.  He even took his new Monsters University toy {a 5 inch MU Sully Scare Student}.

After work, I came home and set up for the Movie Premiere Party.  We had Monster juice, Monster cupcakes and Monster munchies!  My son is the only kid I have ever met who doesn’t like popcorn, so I substituted goldfish crackers as his “munchie”.  {To see my whole shop, click here!}

I found these awesome Monsters University plates at Walmart and strung them up with some baker’s twine to make this fun banner!

To create the Monster banner:

1.  Take the Monsters University plates and punch holes in each of the upper corners.

2.  Tie together with baker’s twine {or ribbon}.

3. String up to decorate for your Movie Premiere Party!

Reed freaked out when he got home!  He was so excited to see the little party we had set up for him!  When I told him we got to go to the movie too, he was beside himself.

I figured since Juicy Juice is a healthy drink, it balances out the Monster cupcakes.  Right?  {wink wink}  PLUS, Juicy Juice has an awesome contest in conjunction with the Monsters University debut!  By redeeming your product code and entering the Juicy Juice Monster Sweepstakes, you have a chance to win a family trip to Pixar Studios AND a $5000 scholarship!  Be sure to follow them on Twitter – @Nestle and @DisneyPixar!

Pretty sure I have received “Coolest Mom Ever” status with this one!

And just so you know?  The movie is awesome!  Reed really enjoyed going to the movie theater for the first time!

Are you big Monsters Inc fans in your house?  This Monster Craft: Movie Premiere Party would be perfect for YOUR little monster!
