Admit it.  How many of you played with empty wrapping paper rolls and pretended to be Luke Skywalker defending the galaxy against Darth Vader?  Growing up and playing Star Wars was a right of passage in the 1980s.  The cool part is now the younger generation gets to relive the excitement (and we get to too)!  These Lightsaber Popsicle Holders will bring out the kid in everyone!

Pop Ice popsicles are a staple in our house.  But every time Reed reaches for one, he has to insulate his little hand.  These kill two birds with one stone – they provide a barrier against the ice and they look cool.

To make these all you need is:

4 inch x 3.75 inch piece of gray craft foam
0.5 inch x 3 inch piece of black adhesive foam
(8) 0.25 inch x 1 inch pieces of black adhesive foam
Red poms
Hot glue gun

Start with the bottom of the handle and the tiny pieces of black adhesive foam.  Peel back the wrapping and stick to the gray foam along the bottom.  Space them about 0.25 inches apart.  About 1/2 inch above the stripes, add the longer piece of black adhesive foam by peeling off the backing.

Add hot glue to the right edge and wrap around to create the handle.

Add the red pom on the front to create your on/off switch.

Now all you need is a popsicle!

The coolest part is the bottom is open so it allows you to still keep your hand warm as you push up the popsicle!
