These Halloween Silhouette Lanterns will add just a hint of spooky to your fall decor!

I am obsessed with vinyl. If it’s blank, it can be vinyled. When I saw these cute lanterns at Michaels, I knew I had to make something for Halloween. Silhouettes are a fun and spooky idea for Halloween crafting. I love how these lanterns turned out!

Materials needed for Halloween Silhouette Lanterns

Cricut Explore or Maker
Light grip mat
Adhesive vinyl
Transfer tape
Basic tool set

The other images are my own. You can download them at the link listed below.

Begin by opening one of the images in Design Space. You will need to size it to your lantern. My lantern was 3.5 x 5 inches. Once the image is sized appropriately, cut on black adhesive vinyl to give it a spooky, shadow-y look.

starting your lantern

Weed away any excess vinyl from the image.

Next apply your transfer tape over the weeded image. Burnish with scraper tool to adhere the image to the transfer tape. Carefully arrange image with transfer tape over area of the lantern you wish to apply the image. Burnish image to the lantern pane and carefully remove the transfer tape. The image should now be adhered to the lantern.

Repeat this process for the remaining three sides of the lantern.

I added the Halloween ribbon at the top to add some color. It was rather bland looking without it.

I love how this looks! The light inside twinkles like a candle and gives it an eerie look. It looks great with my front porch decor!

These Halloween Silhouette Lanterns are a great addition to your fall and seasonal decor! #halloween #halloweendecor
