You don't have to be a fan of candy corn to love these vanilla Candy Corn Cupcakes! via createcraftlove.com

My son and husband love candy corn!  I don’t feel one way of the other.  They love all of the candy corn recipes. I’ve been wanting to experiment with food color and cake batter for awhile so I thought I’d start with something simple and made these Candy Corn Cupcakes!  No worries.  You don’t have to like candy corn to love these easy to make vanilla cupcakes!

Ingredients needed for Candy Corn Cupcakes

White cake mix
Red and yellow food coloring
Vanilla icing
Candy corn

I started with a box of white cake mix.  Prepare according to package directions.  Once the batter is well mixed, divide into two bowls.

I use old fashioned liquid food coloring, not the gel.  The gel is just too difficult to get the colors correct in my opinion. For the orange colored batter, I used 4 drops of red and 16 drops of yellow.  For the yellow colored batter, I just kept adding drops of yellow food coloring until it reached the color I was happy with.

Place cupcake liners in your cupcake pan. I went with a fun orange and black cupcake liner because of Halloween. Fill the bottom third of the cupcake liners with the yellow batter.  Add the orange batter on top of the yellow batter layer.

Bake the cupcakes according to the box instructions.

Allow cupcakes to cool completely and then add vanilla icing and a candy corn to garnish!

You don't have to be a fan of candy corn to love these vanilla Candy Corn Cupcakes!

They turned out perfect and delicious!  The cupcakes kind of look ombre and I think that is so cool! Store bought doesn’t have to be boring! You can do this with any color scheme!

Candy corn is a fun Halloween crafting tool too! Check out our Candy Corn Necklace!
