Pitchers and catchers report this Friday!  My favorite time of the year is about to begin – baseball season!  I wanted something cute to hang on my door to usher in Spring Training.  This Baseball Wreath complete with baseball flowers is the best way to welcome spring (training)!

We bought a cheap pack of baseballs from Walmart.  Using an exacto knife, cut all around the seams of the baseball.  You will need 1.5 baseballs per baseball flower.

Carefully peel away the leather.  Trim any excess red stitching.

If you want to be fancy, you can remove all of the stitching and re-stitch with some red embroidery thread.  The leather on my baseball split and some areas so that wasn’t possible.

Arrange three leather strips into a flower pattern and glue in place.

Once the glue dries, hot glue a red button in the middle.

Set flowers aside.  Wrap a foam wreath form in burlap ribbon.  I needed 2.5 rolls of burlap ribbon.

Add the flowers to the covered wreath form.  Next, I used the cardboard from the ribbon spool as a hidden stabilizer.

Trim away the part that shows.

I found this cute red ribbon with white stitching on the edges that I used to hang my baseball wreath!

And yes – it is already hanging on my front door.  I love it!

Isn’t it a-door-able?!  LOL

I like to think so….
