Surprise the kids with these Lunch Box Pumpkin Treat Bags!

These Pumpkin Treat Bags are such a simple idea, I can't believe I didn't think of it sooner!

You know how around Easter, you start seeing the icing bags filled with goldfish crackers or some other orange colored snack?  It totally looks like a carrot, right?  Well as I was browsing through things in the pantry the other day, I thought about using it for our other favorite orange vegetable/fruit – the pumpkin!  These Pumpkin Treat Bags are such a simple idea, I can’t believe I didn’t think of it sooner!  You can whip these up and throw them in lunch boxes during the fall months!  You can also add in our Halloween Lunch Box Jokes!

Aren’t those the cutest things ever?!

Materials needed to make your own Lunch Box Pumpkin Treat Bags

Plastic treat bags (you can find these at most stores around the holidays)
Black adhesive vinyl
Pencil
Scissors
Ribbon
Orange colored snack

I made two versions.  The first one is just a fall pumpkin.  No jack o lantern face.  The top is tied with green and brown ribbon to look like the pumpkin vine as you can see in the picture below.

plain pumpkin and jack o lantern

To create the jack o lantern face, I used black adhesive vinyl.  I drew the picture of the face on the back of the vinyl and cut out with scissors.  The backing peels off like a sticker and you can arrange them in whatever fashion on the bag. Or if you’re lazy (like me), you can use your Cricut.

add jack o lantern face to bag

Then fill the bag full of goldfish or other orange colored treat like cheeseballs or cheez-its!

For the jack o lantern bag, I went with a more “Halloween-y” type ribbon but don’t feel obligated to do so. Use whatever you think looks cute!

These will make the kids smile!  It’s also a fun idea for classroom parties this Halloween!

These Pumpkin Treat Bags are such a simple idea, I can't believe I didn't think of it sooner!
