Think outside of the box and create your own Garden Hose Spring Wreath to greet your guests!
To say this is my favorite-ist wreath of all time is an understatement. I have been longing to make this wreath for almost a year now! I don’t garden. I have a black thumb. But if I could get something to grow half as pretty as this wreath, I would be thrilled! This wreath screams SPRING!
Make your own Garden Hose Spring Wreath
15 foot garden hose
Extra large twist tie
Silk spring flowers
Can you believe this garden hose was $7 at Wal-mart? Seriously. I was amazed by how light it is! This wreath can easily be hung up on a command hook. Be sure to get the 5 lbs or heavier hook!
I started by coiling my hose and securing it with an extra large twist tie.
I purchased the silk flowers and ribbon to match the gardening gloves I found at JoAnn Fabric.
(Update 2016: These particular gloves are no longer available but I’m sure you can find something equally as cute at your local hardware or home/garden store!)
I chose tulips and daffodils because what could be more quintessentially spring than those two types of flowers!? Trim the silk flowers to your desired length. My flowers were bunched so I trimmed them shorter with the wire trimmer part of my needle nosed pliers.
Begin adding the flowers to your wreath. Simply stick the silk flowers through the twist tie. Don’t worry. You will be covering up that twist tie shortly.
Place the gardening gloves over the twist tie.
Secure the gloves in place with the ribbon. The ribbon keeps the gloves in place and hides that nasty old twist tie. I just love how this yellow ombre ribbon “ties” it all together!
This Garden Hose Spring Wreath took ten minutes – at most! And I just adore it! It’s a simple piece that makes a big statement. You can hang it up year after year on your front door or shed.
I added this sweet little orange butterfly clip when I was finished. Isn’t she pretty?
I also created this Garden Boot Planter that matches perfectly!
I just love how bright and colorful these gardening gloves are!
So what do you think? Isn’t it darling?! Are you ready to get out in your garden now? Or maybe you are just ready for warmer weather. I know I sure am!
