April Fools Day is right around the corner.  Every year, I try to come up with a funny prank for my husband and son.  This year I have the BEST idea!  I made donut seeds.  They are so stinkin’ cute!  I’m planning to give them the donut seeds the night before and then when they come out for breakfast, they will see what the donut seed grew into!  These Donut Seeds are a fun and sweet April Fools Idea that won’t disappoint!

How fun is this April Fools Idea?! Grow your own donuts!

These Donut Seeds were so much fun to make!  All you need is Cheerios, white chocolate candy melts and sprinkles.

Begin by melting the white candy melts according to package instructions.  Add in Cheerios.

Fish the coated Cheerios out with a toothpick.  Set aside on wax paper to dry.

Add sprinkles to the candy coated Cheerios before they dry!

Once dry, you can add them to these tiny jewelry bags.  Print the Donut Seeds printable and attach to the bag.

The kids will love it!  Now here is the key…

Give this to them on March 31st!  They will probably roll their eyes at you but you should be used to that by now.  Tell them you have to plant the donut seeds to see if they will grow.  I used a crushed up chocolate cupcake in a terracotta pot to look like potted dirt.  Place a donut seed in the middle and cover with the chocolate cake.

The next morning for breakfast, have their donuts waiting!  Grab the powdered sugar donuts or your kiddos favorite donut, place on a paper straw and stick in the pot.

I mean seriously, how cute is that?!
