I saw something similar to this at a local craft market and immediately fell in love with it!  The chalkboard and twine fit in with my day to day decor.  Totally my style!  This DIY Chalkboard Carafe is so cool because it’s one craft that can be used two ways!  I love multitasking!

This project is so easy!  All you need is a glass carafe, chalkboard paint, paint brush, washi tape and some twine!

I used the washi tape to edge the paint.  Wrap the washi tape around the neck of the carafe.  Be sure to stay as straight and smooth as possible.

Begin painting with the chalkboard paint.

Allow to dry completely between coats.  Otherwise, the paint will pull up off the glass and look uneven.  It took three coats of paint to get the desired look.

Once completely dry, carefully remove the washi tape.  You will have a crisp, clean line.

Finally, add some twine around the paint edge for the finishing touch!

I love how this turned out!  The cool part is that it is multifunctional!  You can use it as a vase on the entryway table or as a beverage carafe with labeling!
