The Most Refreshing Iced Tea Recipes

Iced tea is my favorite summer beverage! There is nothing better when it’s 100 degrees outside. Did you know that iced tea was first introduced at the 1904 World’s Fair in St. Louis? I love all of these fun twists on the old classic.

Mai Tai Mocktail Recipe

This is such a fun and easy drink that I love to pair with dinners. It feels fancy, but it’s really easy to make! What I love about this drink is that it’s easy to make, affordable and it tastes delicious. 

Mai Tai Ingredients

• 4 ounces of Orange juice
• 4 ounces of pineapple juice
• 1 ounce of grenadine
• Coconut Rum (alcohol version only) 

Hot to Make a Mai Tai

1. Mix together orange juice and pineapple juice in a glass
2. Add the grenadine
3. To create an alcoholic version, add a splash of coconut rum

Just 3 ingredients are needed to create your own Caramel Apple Sangria.

Ingredients:

3 cups of apple cider
1/2 cup of caramel vodka
1/2 bottle of your favorite pinot grigio
Granny Smith apples (optional)

I don’t like a pulp-y apple cider.  Yes.  I know that is what creates the flavor.  My husband gawked at me as I strained the apple cider but I really don’t care.  You can strain it or leave it as is.  I strained it.

 Pour the 3 (strained) cups of apple cider into a pitcher.

Next add the 1/2 cup of caramel vodka.

Since the Cupcake brand of wine is my current favorite, I chose their pinot grigio.  It’s not too sweet and it’s not too dry.  As Goldilocks would say, it was just right.

Stir all of the liquid together.

Now, cut up 3 Granny Smith apples and add to your alcoholic mixture.  Stir again.  Place in refrigerator and chill for 1-2 hours.  This allows the apples to soak up some of the alcohol.  And sangria is kind of defined by those tasty fruits.

I usually make a double batch because my friends can throw back.  LOL

This Caramel Apple Sangria is seriously one of the most amazing drinks.  I brought it to a cookout a couple of weeks ago and it was gone within an hour.  The pinot grigio cuts the sweetness and allows for a rich caramel apple flavor.  My favorite part is eating the apples when the drink is gone.  I mean, green apples are a super food so this is good for you, right?!

Who doesn’t love Santa around Christmas time? Okay, maybe the Grinch. But that big old tummy in a bright red suit just screams Christmas to me! So I decided to turn one of my favorite party cocktails into unique jello shots you can serve all through the holiday season!

Make your own Santa Belly Jello Shots

We have a tradition that started when I was growing up. Every Christmas Eve I read our kids ‘Twas The Night Before Christmas. One of my favorite lines is, “He had a broad face and a little round belly, that shook when he laughed, like a bowl full of jelly.” These shots totally jiggle like Santa’s belly! Love love love!

I went with the easy option of adding a dollop of whipped cream in the middle of the shot to add the belt buckle to. If you want to get all fancy, you can pipe a line of whipped cream across the cup (piping bag with a #10 round tip) and put the buckle in the center. But I’m all about easy prep ad then popping these bad boys! They’re sure to get you on the Nice List!

Fizzy Strawberry Lemonade

This was one of those serendipitous moments born out of sheer desperation. You know that moment. You are out of just about everything in the house and have not gone grocery shopping for the week. We had two drink options: lemonade and some leftover strawberry soda. I threw the two together and the heavens opened. Angels sang. I quickly grabbed my camera and a mason jar so I could share it with all of you!

Ingredients

This seriously involves two ingredients:

• Simply Lemonade
• Strawberry soda

Putting this drink together is easy peasy: just mixed them half and half.

If you are whipping up a large batch, I would suggest using 1 liter of strawberry soda and half a container of Simply Lemonade. Mix in a large pitcher.  

Serve cold over ice. Fizzy Strawberry Lemonade hits the spot on those hot, summer days!

Cotton Candy Lemonade

The lemonade itself is nothing special. We just used the Crystal Light lemonade that we always have around the house.  You can make your own from scratch or be lazy like me. I grabbed a bag of cotton candy at the Dollar Tree and adorned the top of the lemonade with it.

Kids will LOVE the cotton candy part! The cool part is when you dunk the cotton candy into the lemonade. It adds just an extra punch of sweet AND turns it green!

That pretty much made me the coolest mom ever. Of course, the color of your cotton candy will determine the final color of the lemonade.

Now I know this isn’t the healthiest drink in the world.  But it is fun to try something different and surprise the kids! And honestly, sometimes it’s the little things, right?

Cinco de Mayo is in less than 2 weeks!  We used to always get together with friends for a night of Mexican food and margaritas!  Although, I can go for Mexican and margaritas any night!  Sadly, my best buds are 4 hours away and I won’t be able to join them.  But that’s no reason not to have our own fiesta! Some of my favorite memories with my friends are sitting around sipping on a pitcher of margaritas.  Here are some of the most amazing Margarita Recipes to keep you cool!

Hello Create. Craft. Love! I am back for my final recipe. I know! Sad. It’s been a fun 6 months sharing recipes here with Jill.  You can always find me over at GrowingUpGabel.com for more easy recipes.

With St. Patrick’s Day just around the corner I’m obsessed with all things mint.  Did you know you can make your homemade mint extract with just TWO ingredients? My favorite mint recipe is chocolate mint brownies, but sometimes I just want something easy.  An affogato is as easy as it gets.

So what is an affogato? Basically it’s a (get this) – coffee float. No kidding! You add your favorite ice cream and your favorite coffee in a mug and call it an affogato. I made a salted caramel affogato last year and fell in love.  This time I used mint chocolate chip ice cream. Just fill your cup up with ice cream.  You will need more than you think. I went back and added more after I poured the coffee in.

Then pour over freshly brewed strong coffee or espresso. Serve immediately. You can top with whipped cream or serve with some biscotti. You can also mix this up anyway you like. Affogatos are great for desserts for a dinner party. People are so impressed by the name but they are quick and easy to make.

• Strong brewed coffee or espresso

Instructions

• Fill cups with ice cream.
• Pour hot coffee over the ice cream and serve immediately.
