We are big Despicable Me fans, and I love creating movie themed treats.

We came up with these fun and easy Despicable Me themed treats and I think it’s safe to say that everyone will go “ba-na-nas” for these Minion Twinkies!

Aren’t they adorable?! They work year round of course, but we made them for Valentine’s Day.

I decided to give them festive red pants to fit in with the Valentine’s Day theme.

These treats are super easy to whip up!

What You’ll Need:

Red icing
White icing
Black icing
Twinkies
Eyeball candies
*I used Wilton products, they are the best!

How to Make Minions out of Hostess Twinkies

  1. Begin by filling a small glass bowl with red icing and place in the microwave for 20 seconds to melt.

  2. Stir until smooth.

  3. Cover a cookie sheet with parchment paper.

  4. Dip the bottom half of the twinkie in the melted red icing.

  5. Continue dipping the twinkies.  You may have to re-melt the icing as it hardens pretty quickly.

  6. Place the dipped twinkies on the cookie sheet and allow to dry.

  7. Once the red icing has hardened, ice a white stripe as the top of the pants.

  8. Use the white icing to attach the eyeball candies.

  9. Last but not least, add a little minion smirk with the black icing.
