I grabbed these 98 cent plastic snow globes from Walmart a couple of weeks ago and I thought they would make a cute winter project! These would be a great idea for a Christmas craft night with the girls!

Materials needed for Lighted Snowman Snow Globe

• Plastic snow globe
• Felt top hats
• Red and black buffalo plaid ribbon
• Battery operated tea lights
• Black and orange adhesive vinyl
• Cricut or Cricut Maker
• Light grip mat
• Weeding tool
• Mod podge
• Foam brush
• White glitter
• Hot glue gun

Begin by taking apart the snow globe. Unscrew the bottom and set aside.

Using your foam brush, paint a light coat of mod podge on the inside of the globe. Add about a teaspoon of white glitter while the mod podge is still wet. Screw the bottom back on the globe and shake to mix the glitter.

Set aside and allow to dry. In the meantime, use your Cricut to cut the snowman face. I used the image Snowman Face #M3FF91940 from Design Space. You can choose whichever face you want! Follow the prompts to cut your vinyl.

Add the adhesive vinyl face to the side of the snow globe.

Next, hot glue your felt hat to the top of the snow globe.

Use the ribbon to create and scarf and tie around the lid of the snow globe and add the battery operated tea light.

Screw the bottom back on the snow globe and all finished! Isn’t he the cutest?!

Now I know some of you are going to send me nasty emails or comments about this shirt. It really isn’t meant to be crass, just funny. This idea was born from my grinchy office manager who we told to go elf herself so she would join in the holiday spirit.

Materials needed to make your own Elf Yo’Self Christmas Shirt

Cricut Explore or Maker
Iron on vinyl
Light grip mat
Basic tool set
Fine point blade
White shirt
EasyPress 2 
EasyPress Mat

1. Begin by downloading the free file below and upload it into Cricut Design Space.
2. Measure your shirt and size the image appropriately in the software.
3. Once finalized, send the image to cut and follow directions for cutting.  
4. Don’t forget to mirror your image as you are working with iron on vinyl.  Otherwise your design will be backwards.
5. Repeat above process for each color layer.
6. Weed excess vinyl away from image using the basic tool set.
7. Set EasyPress to 315 degrees.  Pre-heat tshirt for 5 seconds.  Arrange image on shirt.  Apply heat and pressure for 30 seconds.  Flip material over and apply heat for an additional 15 seconds.
8. Peel away clear liner while warm.

I have three different Christmas trees that I put up. One is the family tree. It has a collection of all the ornaments we’ve collected together over our 15 year relationship. The second is a rustic tree that I put in our breakfast nook. The third is my ski chalet tree. These ornaments will look great on that tree!

Materials needed for Nordic Christmas Ornaments

Cricut Explore or Maker
Iron on vinyl
Light grip mat
Basic tool set
Transfer tape
Fine point blade
Birch ornaments
Cricut EasyPress 2

Begin by downloading the images in the file at the bottom of this post. Upload those images into Design Space. Size the image to fit your birch ornament. Select the entire image and click “attach”. Send image to cut.

Since we are working with iron on vinyl, be sure you mirror your image!

Weed away any excess vinyl. I am continually amazed by how small this machine can cut. To give you an idea my images are all sized to 2.5 inches to fit on the ornaments. That is some tiny cuts, folks!

Place the weeded image on the wood ornament, shiny side up.

Pre-heat your EasyPress 2 to 300 degrees for 40 seconds. I do pre-warm the wood for about 5-10 seconds before the image.

Place EasyPress directly on top of iron on liner. Start timer. Remove and place in cradle when timer alerts. Carefully peel the liner away from the image. If the image is not sticking, try applying heat again.

To finish them off, I added a small plaid bow. I cannot wait to add these to my tree!

Just add this cute Elf Door to your Elf on the Shelf arsenal!  It’s like a fairy door but for the elves.  You can bring this out when you bring out the tiny magical creature!  Then they can imagine he has a way back and forth to Santa and the North Pole!

Materials needed for Elf Door

• Unfinished wood dollhouse door
• Acrylic craft paint
• Painter’s tape
• Glitter
• Christmas embellishments
• Hot glue gun

I started by taping off my door so I wouldn’t get extra paint from the trim onto the door. 

Use craft paint to paint the trim around the door.  Allow an hour to dry and then add a second coat.  After the second coat finishes drying, carefully remove the painter’s tape and work on the door.

You will need to add 2 coats of paint to the door as well, allowing an hour between each coat.

Once the paint is dry, add a thin layer of mod podge to the door and sprinkle glitter over the wet mod podge.

Shake off the excess glitter and repeat the process for the door trim.  I used coordinating paints and glitter colors but you can do anything you want to personalize this!

Allow the mod podge time to dry before adding the embellishments or they may not adhere properly.  I found these cute tiny wreaths and pom pom curly things by the small Christmas tree decorations at the craft store.  I hot glued the wreath to the door and added the curls to the sides.  I took one of the curls, straightened it and glued in place on the trim over the door.

I love how it turned out!  I gave this to my sister since we don’t do Elf on the Shelf but I think it will be a huge hit!

Materials needed for Holiday Dinner Charger

For these Holiday Dinner Chargers, you will need unfinished round wooden pallets (found these at Michaels), Americana Decor Maxx Gloss in Candy Apple and White China, snowflake stencil, and a paint brush.

Sand the pallets to a smooth finish.  Brush off any excess sand dust with a dry cloth.  Begin painting with the Candy Apple.  Let dry to touch between coats.  For this project, I used two coats of red paint.

Let dry over night.

Place your snowflake stencils on the painted surface.

Gently brush on the white paint.  Let dry to touch and then apply second coat of white paint.

Once dry, carefully remove the stencils.  Touch up any places where the white paint bled with the red paint.

Once they have sat for 14 days, they will easily clean off any excess cranberry sauce or gravy that has slipped off the holiday plate!

I am in LOVE with how these turned out!

Christmas Light Treat Boxes

Everyone keeps begging me to send them a PDF of this file.  I love these little treat boxes!  They are perfect for Christmas stocking stuffers!  The Cricut Explore cuts and scores this box at the same time.  The machine has a place for the blade AND the scoring pen so it does it all in one fail swoop!  All you have to do is glue it together and fill with your favorite Christmas candy!  I wrapped the top with silver washi tape to give it the look of a true Christmas light.

DIY Wooden Banner

Can you believe that my Cricut cut this?!  Using the deep cut blade, you can slice through balsa wood like butter!  Who needs a scroll saw when you have this machine?  Stain the wood and glue to some baker’s twine to create this rustic Christmas look!

Holiday Kissing Ball

Another paper craft that packs a big punch!  I was able to set the machine and walk away while it did all the work!  This Holiday Kissing Ball is comprised of over 50 paper bay leaves glued to a foam ball.  Can you imagine if you had to cut this out by hand?  I just love how it looks hanging in our entry way!

And Cricut has not slowed down!  They have been tirelessly working on the new iOS app so now you can design and create from your iPhone or iPad!  But wait, there’s more!  The Android app is in the works and close to being completed as well!  Pretty soon the entire world will be able to create on the go!

Christmas parties are in full swing!  Are you looking for something cute to take to school or work?  These Reindeer Party Favors are so easy to make and they look adorable when finished!  I’ll show you how to whip up a batch in no time!

Materials needed to make Reindeer Party Favors

You will need candy canes, brown pipe cleaners, small red poms, and googly eyes to make these Candy Cane Reindeer. Easy peasy! Quick list you can pick up at your local craft store.

Cut one of the brown pipe cleaners in half.  Next, cut one half of that in half again.  Using the long half, twist around the curve of the candy cane and form a “V”.  Take one small piece and twist around one side of the “V” to create an antler.  Repeat with the other piece on the other half of the “V”.

To finish your reindeer, hot glue your googly eyes and red pom pom to the short part of the candy cane which will act as the reindeer’s head.

How cute is that?!  These Reindeer Party Favors make great classroom party idea or Christmas craft party favor!  I love these for stocking stuffers too! The kids always love a good candy cane at Christmas. Plus it’s adorable.  You could even hang them on the Christmas tree!  When guests come to visit, they can take a candy cane!

Materials needed to create your own Christmas Light Treat Boxes

Cricut Maker or Explore
Fine point blade
Single scoring wheel
Light Grip Mat
Red and green cardstock
Hot glue gun
Washi tape
Candy

I used my Cricut Explore to cut these light boxes out.  The scoring pen worked great to create the scored lines used to assemble the treat box and made it a breeze. Now that the scoring wheel is available for the Maker, I would recommend using it to score the line for these boxes.  I used image #M4284D from the Tags Bags Boxes and More 2 cartridge.

Once the image is cut, remove from the mat. Now you will want to fold along the scored lines.

Glue the bottom part of the light together first.

This creates a cone.  Before you finish gluing together, fill with the Christmas candy of your choosing.  I used Holiday M&Ms because they are my favorite.

Then glue the upper part of the light box together. Be careful not to drip and glue on your candy.

Once it is glued shut, wrap the top of the “light” with silver washi tape to give it an authentic look.

That’s it!  Super easy and super cute! Repeat this process for as many lights you want.

Fits easily in stockings or can be tied and used as a gift tag! I strung several together and they look stinkin’ adorable!

I love how they turned out!
