As I said the other day, I was challenged to gift my sister something with her new monogram. I had no idea what to make. She doesn’t like shabby chic which is totally my thing. I figured her other bridesmaids would get her monogrammed wine glasses or monogrammed bags. I wanted to be different. I wanted to stand out. I saw an idea on Pinterest where someone used an empty picture frame and added vinyl lettering. This sparked my creativity and I decided to create this Monogrammed Shadow Box in honor of my sister and her new family.
For the inside of the box, I used her save the date card and her wedding invitation to commemorate the big day. I also printed pictures of her and my new brother-in-law. She can add any other special mementos from her special day.
Using PicMonkey, I created her new monogram using the Monogram KK font. I saved it and converted it to an SVG file to upload into my Cricut Design Space software.
Then I cut out the monogram and her wedding date out of black adhesive vinyl.
I absolutely love how it turned out and she was equally blown away! (Which was the point, of course!) As the years go on, she can change out the pictures but always be reminded of when they started their life together.
