This month’s Floracraft Make It Fun Team Challenge was a box full of cones.  Big cones, medium cones, itty bitty cones.  Naturally this time of year, cones turn into Christmas trees.  While playing around with ideas for the tiniest cones, I created these ornaments.  Forget the other idea, I love these!

These little beauties were so easy to make!

Materials needed to make your own Twine and Twig Christmas Ornaments

Floracraft® Make It Fun® Foam Cones 3 inch
Floracraft® Jute Twine
Faux wood wrapping paper
2 inch hole punch
Scissors
Hot glue gun
Stick from the backyard
Ribbon

supplies needed

Add a glob of hot glue to the top of your cone and attach the jute twine.

Begin wrapping the jute twine around the cone.  Every couple of rows, add some hot glue to hold in place.

Continue until the entire cone is wrapped with the twine.  Trim the excess twine and glue end in place.

Use your 2 inch hole punch to cut out a circle of the faux wood wrapping paper.  Cut an “X” in the middle of the circle.  Glue circle to bottom of the cone.  Careful to avoid the middle so you can push the twig in place.

Once you complete the bottom, it’s time to add ribbon to hang!

I just LOVE how these turned out!  I made three before I ran out of twine.  They are now hanging on my kitchen Christmas tree!

Who knew you could whip up something that cute with a little foam, twine and a twig? I made these Plaid Wrapped Christmas Trees from the bigger foam cones!

Although I was directly compensated for this post, all thoughts are 100% mine.
