I’ve never made a St. Patrick’s Day Wreath before because in all honesty, I don’t decorate for St. Patrick’s Day.  However, I feel it is my duty to you, my faithful readers, to take on new challenges {ie. Irish holidays…LOL}.  Plus, I figured making a St. Patrick’s Day Wreath was a great way to incorporate Pantone’s color of the year – emerald green!

Wanna make your own St. Patrick’s Day Wreath?

Here’s what you need:

Foam wreath form

Fabric {I used Moda Dots in green}

12×12 inch Scrapbook paper

Shamrock ornaments

Shamrock picks

Ribbon

Hot glue gun

Scissors

Butter knife and acrylic ruler {I know – weird, right?  But stay with me}

Begin by cutting your fabric into three inch strips.

Wrap strips around wreath form.  Secure each end with hot glue.  Continue until entire wreath form is covered in fabric strips.  Set wreath aside.  {I used a similar method for my Halloween wreath.}

Next you are going to make your paper medallions.  Here is a quick and easy tute on how to make your own!

  1. Cut your 12×12 inch scrapbook paper into one inch and two inch strips.  {One inch strips for smaller medallions and two inch strips for larger medallion.}  Each medallion uses two strips glued end to end.
  2. Using your butter knife and acrylic ruler, “score” your strip in one inch increments.
  3. This is what your scored strip will look like when you are finished.
  4. Accordion fold your strips on the scored lines.
  5. Hot glue ends of strips together.
  6. It will make an accordion circle.  Once glue is dry, fold the edges inward to create your medallion.  Hot glue together in the middle {not pictured}.

Once you have your medallions created, glue the shamrock ornaments to the centers of the medallions.

Arrange the medallions and floral picks and then glue to wreath.  Add ribbon to hang.  All finished!

This is Kyle’s favorite wreath I’ve made since it’s green {and that’s his favorite color}.

The medallions are so trendy and fun!  Friends that were at CHA said medallions were all the rage!
