My breakfast nook is my favorite place in the house!  It’s kind of my zen place.  My dad helped me build the banquette bench and put up the board and batten.  It’s turned into my special spot to decorate for the holidays or seasons.  I wanted to give you a little tour of my Halloween Breakfast Nook today!

I designed the whole thing around my metal haunted house!  I got that from Yankee Candle several years ago and it is still one of my favorite Halloween decorations!  It has a place for votive candles throughout and looks so cool lit up at night!

Those cute placemats were on sale on Zulily a couple of weeks ago.  I also got the matching towels for the kitchen.

The area above my board and batten has become my new mantel area.  I love to dress it up!  I got the chicken wire frame from Gordman’s a couple of years ago.  It’s such a great versatile piece!  I painted those letters and hung them on the chicken wire.  The bats were a Martha Stewart kit I grabbed on sale at Michaels.  My favorite part is the felt ball garland!  It was the perfect touch to pull the colors up onto the wall!

The scrappy fabric garland was leftover from the throw pillow shams I made!  (Tutorial later this week!)

I also made the Haunted House Pillow to coordinate with my table decorations!  (Look for a tutorial for that later this week too!)

I used my Easy Pillow Sham tutorial to create the pillow covers.

It’s just such a fun area!
