Ummmmm….yeah!  And thus, the Cupcake Liner Wreath was born.

Wanna make your own Cupcake Liner Wreath?

• Here’s what you need:
• 50 Cupcake liner flowers = 250 cupcake liners
• Round foam wreath form
• Ribbon
• Wooden heart embellishment (optional)

To begin making the cupcake liner flowers, I used the same tutorial I used for the bows.  You can find that here.  I made about ten a day until I made enough.  Once all the flowers were made, I cut the wire down to one inch.  Lay out your foam wreath form and begin sticking them in the foam.  I lined the inside of the wreath first and worked my way outward as you will see in the picture below.

A couple of tips that made this easier for me…

1. Make sure all of your flowers are in the same stage of “bloom”.  I had some that were “too bloomed” and you could see right down the middle and some that looked like they had just budded.  Try to keep them similar or it will look wonky.
2. Remove some of the flowers to adhere the heart.  Otherwise it will pull the flowers out as it pulls the whole wreath to the floor resulting in lots of tears.  {I tell you this from personal experience.}  I found that little wooden heart at Michael’s and painted it.
3. Do not hang outside!  It is too fragile.  This is definitely an inside wreath but this was the best place to take my picture!

Doesn’t it look like real flowers?  I love it!

This definitely takes a lot of patience but I just love how feminine and Valentine-y it looks!  {Is Valentine-y a word?  LOL}

Make your own Cupid’s Arrow Valentine’s Day Wreath

• Yarn
• Heart shaped foam wreath form
• Dawl rod
• Red felt
• Cardboard
• Hot glue gun
• Ribbon

Begin by wrapping your heart wreath form with yarn Place a drop of hot glue on the back of the wreath form. Adhere the end of the yarn to the hot glue and allow to dry. Once dry, begin wrapping your yarn around the form. I find it is easiest to leave the yarn in the skein and loosen a length of yarn to work with at a time. It makes it easier to manage when going through the middle of the wreath.

Once you have completely covered the heart wreath form in yarn, cut the yarn and adhere the end to the back to the wreath with another small drop of hot glue.

To create the arrow, pierce the dawl rod through the wreath. Cut a heart out of red felt and back with cardboard so it can hold up to the outdoor elements. Do the same thing to create the fletching on the end of the arrow.

Finish the wreath by adding some pretty ribbon to hang on your door!

Total time: 2 hours (mostly because wrapping the yarn takes some patience and time)
Cost: $10

Is that not the cutest?! It goes great with my farmhouse decor!

My Cupid’s Arrow Wreath and Cupcake Liner Wreath are among my wreaths of Valentine’s past.  Originally, I had planned on making this wreath for winter and then changing it for Valentine’s Day.  Unfortunately, time got away from me and I did not make the winter wreath.

All you need to create your own Yarn Wrapped Valentine Wreath is:

• Foam wreath form (with rounded edges)
• White minky yarn
• Valentine ornament
• Hot glue gun
• Scissors
• Red ribbon (for hanger)

Place a dob of hot glue on back of the wreath form and glue the end of the yarn in place.

Begin wrapping the yarn around the wreath.  Keep the yarn tight and close to each other so as not to let any of the wreath form show through.

Now sit down and watch your favorite show.  It will take about 30 minutes to wrap the entire wreath.

After you’ve finished wrapping, you will want to cut the yarn and hot glue in place.  BUT BEFORE YOU DO THAT – thread the yarn through the ornament ribbon.  This will allow the ornament to hang in the middle.

OK now you can glue the end in place.

Finally, we are going to make a hanger.  Cut about a 4 inch piece of ribbon.  Fold the ends together and hot glue.  Once that dries, you will hot glue the ribbon hanger to the back of the wreath.  Right over where you glue the end of the yarn in place.

If you want to change it out and make a winter wreath instead, carefully pull off the hanger and end of the yarn.  Switch out the ornament with a white or silver snowflake and create a white ribbon hanger.

Easy peasy!

I love how simple it is.  It looks pure, just like unconditional love.

DIY Halloween Wreath

I cannot think of a creepier, more macabre author. Edgar Allen Poe instills a sense of dread and longing that fits my love of Halloween. The opening stanza of “The Raven” begins with a knocking at the door. Seems fitting that I’m sharing my Halloween wreath with you today!

“Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary,
Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore—
While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,
As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door—
“‘Tis some visitor,” I muttered, “tapping at my chamber door—
               Only this and nothing more.”

Materials needed to make your own Halloween Wreath

• 14 inch foam wreath form
• Black and white fabric
• Black silk flowers
• Black feathers
• Black floral picks
• Raven
• Hot glue gun
• Rotary mat, cutter and acrylic ruler

I began this little beauty with some leftover fabric that I thought would be perfect for the occasion.

You can add whatever you think will look best. I am swooning over how it looks against my gray door!

How to Make a Halloween Wreath

1. Cut the fabric into 2 inch strips and began hot gluing the ribbon to the foam wreath form.
2. Hot glue the end of the fabric to the back of your foam wreath form.
3. Wrap the fabric strip around the wreath until you run out of fabric.
4. Hot glue the end in place.
5. Beginning where the last strip finished, add the next piece of fabric and follow the same guidelines. Repeat this process until the entire wreath form is covered.
6. Once completely covered, you’ll want to pop all the silk flowers off their stem and pierce them through the fabric and/or hot glue them.
7. Lastly, add embellishments. I added feathers, berries and raven to give it a little more dimension.

I love how vintage and classy my Halloween wreath looks! But if you know the poem, it’s also kind of creepy. Halloween door perfection, if I do say so myself!

This State Flower Spring Wreath is a gorgeous nod to fresh beginnings in your home state!

Missouri’s state flower is the white hawthorn and the state tree is the dogwood. I found a shop on Etsy called Owly Kat Originals that makes these state flower cut files. They are stunning! So when I first started playing with the xTool M1, I knew I wanted to cut the Missouri one.

Materials needed for State Flower Spring Wreath

• xTool M1 10W
• State Flower cut file
• 3mm basswood
• 3mm walnut
• Wood glue
• Clamps
• Grapevine wreath
• Silk flowers
• Hot glue/hot glue gun
• Ribbon

First thing we are going to do is open xTool Creative Space. Turn on your xTool M1. Place the triangle prisms on the base plate and add the 3mm walnut on top of the prisms. Center the wood to the laser. Close the lid so your material uploads into the software.

Open the state flower image. For the walnut layer, we are working with the background image on top. Isolate the intricate floral cut and move it off the canvas. Set your material to 3mm walnut, height raised to triangle prism. Be sure to select “cut”. Click process to send the image to the xTool. Press start and the button on the front of the machine.

Once the background is cut, it’s time to work with the intricate floral layer. Set aside the walnut background. For the floral cut, I chose to use 3mm basswood for contrast. Place your basswood on the triangle prisms and close the lid to send the real time camera image to your software.

Delete the background image and move your floral image to the real time canvas view. Change the material to 3mm basswood. The rest of the settings will remain the same. Follow the above steps to send image to xTool for cutting.

Once the cutting is complete, gently pop out any negative space. Brush a light layer of wood glue to the back of the floral cut and place directly in the center and on top of the walnut background. Clamp and allow to dry.

Assembling Your Wreath

Hot glue the finished state flower wood piece to your grapevine wreath.

Now we are going to add our silk flowers. I couldn’t find any white hawthorn blossoms at the craft store so I bought dogwood since it’s our state tree and the blossoms are pretty similar.

Start arranging and gluing the stems into place. Once you have that arranged as you would like, add your bow.

I am in love with how this State Flower Spring Wreath turned out! It’s so unique and simple in its design. Spring wreaths are my favorite!

Materials needed for Hoop Snowman Wreath

7 inch wooden embroidery hoop
10 inch wooden embroidery hoop
White broadcloth
Birch plywood 1/32 thickness sheet
Cricut Maker
Knife blade
Fine point blade
Black iron on vinyl
Strong grip mat
Light grip mat
Cricut basic tool set
Cricut EasyPress
Hot glue gun
Scissors
Plaid Christmas ribbon
Christmas floral pick

Design Space images used for this project:

Begin by opening Design Space and opening the top hat image listed above.  Size the image at 8 inches in width.  Load your knife blade.  Send image to cut and choose balsa 3/32 as your material.  Apply the birch to the strong grip mat and secure the edges with washi tape.  Load and cut.

1. Once wood hat is cut, set aside.  Change material to iron on vinyl.  Mirror the image.  Apply the black iron on vinyl, shiny side down, to the light grip mat.  Load and cut the hat image again.
2. Weed vinyl away from the hat.  Lay the iron on vinyl on top of the wood hat cut out.  Set EasyPress to 300 degrees for 40 seconds.  Apply EasyPress to the sandwiched hats and begin timer.  Once timer finishes, remove EasyPress and set in cradle.  Gently peel the plastic liner away.
3. Next, cut the face and button images.  Insert face image onto canvas and size to 6 inches wide.  Size buttons to 1.5 inches wide.  Send to cut.  Mirror the images, choose iron on vinyl and cut.  Weed away excess vinyl.  Apply face image to white cloth.  Set EasyPress to 315 degrees for 30 seconds.
4. Apply EasyPress to face image.  Once timer finishes, gently peel away plastic liner.
5. Place cloth with face image in the 7 inch wood embroidery hoop.
6. Weed away the excess vinyl from the buttons.  Apply to cloth.  Repeat process of applying the vinyl to the cloth with the EasyPress at same settings.  Gently peel away plastic liner.
7. Place cloth with buttons in the 10 inch wood embroidery hoop.
8. Trim excess cloth from the back of the embroidery hoops.

Assembling Your Wreath

Overlap the larger hoop with the smaller hoop.  Hot glue in place.

Pull apart the Christmas floral pick.  Choose which leaves you wish to use.

Arrange leaves and berries onto hat and hot glue into place.

Hot glue finished hat onto the top of the assembled snowman.  Add plaid Christmas ribbon between the two hoops to create a scarf.

How stinkin’ cute is that?!  I love him!

I love how it turned out!  I have him hanging inside our front door.

How to make the Happy Camper Summer Wreath

Supplies:

Foam wreath form (16 inch)
Red and white polkadot fabric (1/2 yard)
Cutting mat and rotary cutter
Acrylic ruler
Hot glue gun
Tin camper decoration
Scissors
Pom poms in two contrasting colors
Ribbon

Fabric wrapped wreaths are my favorite to make.  The fabric does not have to be cut perfectly.  If you don’t have a cutting mat and rotary cutter, no worries.  You can totally rock this out with scissors.  Honestly, the rotary cutter is just a time saver in my opinion.

Begin by cutting your fabric into 2 inch strips.  Trim off the selvage.

Hot glue the end of the strip to the foam wreath form.  Begin wrapping the fabric around the wreath.  Be sure to keep the fabric taut as you wrap, this will help prevent lumps and bumps.  When you get to the end of the strip, hot glue into place.  Begin the next strip where the first leaves off.

Keep gluing and wrapping fabric strips around the wreath until it is completely covered.

Finish off your Happy Camper Summer Wreath

I found that adorable tin camper decoration at Hobby Lobby.  It was attached to a wooden stand.  I just bent the wire back and forth until it broke off.  I hot glued the tin camper to the front bottom center of the wreath.

Next I hot glued the pom poms in place.  Because of how I chose to wrap the pom poms, I had to trim them off the back of the wreath.  If you prefer, you can cut and glue to the sides without stringing it across the back but I just liked the look of it better this way.

I took the extra pom poms and glued them to the front of the wreath around the camper.

To finish it off, I also added a white string of pom poms because I wanted a little more contrast. 

I am absolutely in LOVE with this Happy Camper Summer Wreath! 

Plus the colors are great too!  Since it’s red white and blue, I can keep it up throughout the summer holidays!  Perfect for 4th of July!

Materials needed for Snow Globe Wreath

(2) 16 inch styrofoam wreath forms
Foam cutter
Hot glue gun
1/2 yard Mulberry Lane White Snowy Scene Dots
Plastic sheet
Christmas tree truck ornament
Bottle brush tree
2 bags of snow ball filler
Mini tree snowflake ornaments and thread
White pom poms

1. With a dry erase marker, trace the inside of the wreath form onto the plastic.  Cut about 1/2 inch outside of the traced circle.  You will need to do this twice!  Set aside.
2. Next, cut your fabric into 3 inch strips.
3. Trim the selvage.
4. Take the second foam wreath form and cut it in half so that you can stack them together to create a three inch depth.  Hot glue the two wreaths together.
5. Begin wrapping the combined wreath forms with fabric strips.  Hot glue the ends in place on the same side.  This will be the back of your wreath.  Continue wrapping strips until entire wreath form is covered with fabric.
6. Use one of the plastic circles you cut in step 1 and hot glue over the middle opening on the FRONT side of the wreath.
7. Turn wreath over.  Cut a 3 inch by 8 inch strip of plastic to place in the middle of the wreath.  This is where you will glue your ornaments and trees.  I secured the plastic in place using sewing pins.
8. Fill bottom section under plastic strip with snowball filler.
9. Hot glue the ornaments and trees onto the plastic strip.
10. String up the snowflake ornaments and pin into the top of the inside of the wreath.
11. Place the remaining snowball filler into the decorated half of the wreath.  Hot glue the other plastic circle to enclose the “snow globe”.
12. Turn wreath over.  Hot glue white pom poms around the edge of the plastic circle to conceal it.

To finish your wreath…

Hang your Snow Globe Wreath with twine and ribbon to greet holiday guests!

My husband thinks this is my best Christmas wreath to date!  I have to tell you – I LOVE IT!

I know it’s sacrilegious to post about Halloween before September but I’ve always been a bit of a rebel.  We were watching back to back baseball games the other night and I thought this would give me something to do in the meantime.

Make your own Halloween Rag Wreath!

Wire wreath form (the small one)
Halloween fabric in fat quarters (5 different coordinating colors)
Rotary cutter, mat, and acrylic ruler
BOO letters and black paint

Start by painting your letters so they can be drying as you are cutting and tying fabric.  Confession: I didn’t feel like driving into Michaels to get wooden letters but they had these burlap covered letters at Wal-mart.  I grabbed BOO and took them home to spray paint black.

The fabric line I used for this project is Boo Crew by Maude Asbury for Blend Fabrics.  I found it at my favorite online fabric store, Fat Quarter Shop.

Begin by cutting your fat quarters into 1 inch x 6 inch pieces.

Place your fabric strips in a leftover plastic grocery bag and grab your wire wreath form. 

Assembling your wreath

Now put on your favorite movie or sporting event and get to tying.  In my head I come up with my own pattern order for each wire row.  For instance, I will use fabric A, B, C, D, then E.  On the next row, I will use E, C, A, B, and D.  It’s easiest to start from the middle and work out.  Start tying along the inside ring repeating the fabric pattern all the way around the wreath form.

It’s a messy process because you will have frayed fabric all over but the end product is totally worth it.  Continue the same process on each of the other rings of wire.  Just change up the fabric order a little for each ring.

Once you’ve finished tying all of the fabric on your wreath form, grab your letters and hot glue onto the fabric.

Isn’t that adorable?!  

I’m kind of a Halloween purist, meaning I LOVE to decorate in classic orange and black.  I will throw in an accent color but you will rarely see me swap the colors out completely.  I just love how this turned out!

This is a great project for kids!  Cut the fabric for the younger ones but let them practice tying as they make their own Halloween Rag Wreath!

The newest trend to hit DIY is the hoop wreath.  Seriously.  You cannot search on Pinterest without seeing one.  People are using large embroidery hoops like they use for hand quilting or a cheap hula hoop.  And succulents are not going anywhere anytime soon.  I combined the two to create this gorgeous Succulent Hoop Wreath!

Make your own Succulent Hoop Wreath!

Small hula hoop (Dollar Tree, baby!)

Natural Jute Rope (3)

Small Succulent Mat

Hot glue gun

I decided to wrap my hula hoop in rope to add some dimension to it!

Start by plucking the succulents off the mat.  They come off pretty easy.  You should not need floral cutters.

Set the succulents aside.

Next, hot glue the end of your rope to the hula hoop.  Hold rope in place until it dries.  Wrap the hula hoop with the rope.

Continue wrapping the rope around the hula hoop until you reach the end of the rope.  Hot glue in place and continue with the next length of rope.  You will use three of the ones I specified above.  It will take roughly 37 feet of rope for a hula hoop of this size.

Once the hula hoop is completely wrapped, begin adding your succulents.  You will hot glue them in place.

I used all of the succulents on the wreath.  Strategically place them so they cover where the rope restarts.

To finish it, I added a simple navy and white striped wreath.

Isn’t it stunning?!  I love how big it is because it fills the front door!

It’s so springy and neutral that you can use it all summer long!  Of course, I will switch it up because I HAVE to make a new a wreath for 4th of July.  (wink wink)
