This Chocolate Cobbler has a crisp outer layer with a gooey middle that melts in your mouth!

Chocolate Cobbler pin

The Keeter Center is Branson’s #1 fine dining restaurant.  If you’ve ever visited the area and have not eaten there, you are missing out.  They are our only farm to table restaurant.  All of the vegetables, meat and dairy are produced on the property which belongs to College of the Ozarks.  Their menu changes with the season which means their desserts change as well.  The first time I went there, I had the Chocolate Cobbler and it was to die for!  It’s mouthwatering, rich, gooey yumminess is something I crave but the next time we went it was gone!  I begged my husband to try to re-create this masterpiece and he did!  I promise this dessert will not disappoint!

It’s made in two layers – the brownie layer and the top sugar shell.  But when the two meet in the heat, it creates a third chocolate fudge type layer that will blow you away!  What separates this from being a brownie is there are no eggs.  Honestly, I now prefer this to brownies any day!

Bottom Layer
1 cup flour
1-1/2 tsp baking powder
¼ tsp baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
6 tbs cocoa
½ cup milk
6 tbs melted butter
¾ cup white sugar
2 tbs brown sugar
1-1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Top Layer
½ cup white sugar
½ cup brown sugar
½ cup cocoa powder
¼ tsp salt
1-1/2 boiling water

  1. Preheat oven to 350
  2. Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, white sugar, brown sugar, cocoa, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl whisk milk, melted butter, and vanilla
  4. Pour the liquid over the dry mixture and mix. The final product should be thick resembling a brownie batter.
  5. Pour the batter into a pan
  6. Mix the ingredients for the top layer and sprinkle evenly over the batter. And the boiling water to the top without stirring and place in 350 degree oven for 40 minutes.

If you’ve made this Chocolate Cobbler at home, head over to Facebook and let us know how it turned out!
