With Mother’s Day fast approaching, I wanted to share some easy DIY gift ideas that you can make!  While in my apothecary (read: kitchen) the other day, I whipped up this amazing sugar scrub.  This Lavender Vanilla Sugar Scrub takes a few ingredients and about 5 minutes to make!

Every mother wants a chance to relax and pamper herself!  This sugar scrub can be used on your hands, on your feet or even as a face scrub!  The lavender and vanilla mixture is so soothing and relaxing!

Ingredients:

1 cup of granulated sugar

1/2 cup coconut oil

1 tsp extra virgin olive oil

8 drops of lavender essential oils

1/4 tsp vanilla extract

Combine sugar, coconut oil and olive oil in a medium bowl.  Mix well.

Add lavender essential oil and vanilla extract.  Store in air tight container.  Will keep for about a week.

{This recipe makes one jar full.}

Lavender can also help with skin irritations and restore skin’s natural properties.  Not to mention the sweet, floral scent is so inviting!
