Shark Costume

We are knee deep in awesomeness over at the Handmade Halloween Costume Contest and Link Party!  If you haven’t linked up yet, you’d better hurry!  Entry closes on Saturday!
In the meantime, I thought I would share the costume I made for Reed.
Ever since Shark Week was on the Discovery Channel in August, Reed has been begging me to make him a shark costume for Halloween.  I looked through all the pattern books and JoAnn Fabrics and was unable to find a single shark!  Google to the rescue….

The tutorial I found was great and easy to follow.  {You can find it here.}  I did make a couple of modifications.  The pattern called for red felt to be sewn to the mouth hole and an oval cut out for the head.  Reed was not having any of that.  So I added the red to the back of the “mouth”.  You can see that in the pictures below.

He wanted to show you what if would look like if you were to see him in the water…LOL
