With the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, we can often lose sight of what this time of year means.  It’s a time of rebirth, hope and faith.  After all, Jesus is the reason for the season!  This Nativity Pallet Art is the perfect compliment to the true meaning of Christmas!

 

Wanna make your own Nativity Pallet Art?

Here’s what you need:

 (8) 4 in x 24 in. Balsa wood planks {from Michaels}

Wood glue

Weathered oak stain

Paint brush

Old cloth

Nativity stencil

Cream colored paint and mini roller

Using the wood glue, glue the edges of six pieces together.  Allow to dry.  Glue the other two pieces perpindicular to the back of the 6 pieces.

After the glue has dried, it’s time to stain!

Apply the stain to the front and edges of the pallet.  Allow about 10-15 minutes to dry before wiping off.

Allow to dry overnight.

I made a nativity stencil out of adhesive vinyl using my die cutting machine.  {I wrestled with the vinyl quite a bit and forgot to take a picture of the stencil itself!  Bad blogger!}  Once you get the stencil arranged, apply one coat of the cream paint using your mini roller.  Allow time to dry and then remove the stencil.

I don’t have a nativity of my own but this is the next best thing!  It will look lovely on our fireplace mantel!
