The Super Bowl is just around the corner!  I’m not a big fan of either team this year but I am a fan of the food!  I wanted to come up with something fun and festive for the occasion.  I whipped up this Football Utensil Holder using a foam cake form!!

Can you believe I started out with just this Cake Form?

I got online and found football clip art.  I cut it out and tacked it to the foam.  (Similar to what I did for the Snowflake Door Hanging!)

Using the football as a stencil, I cut out the football from the cake form with my Styrocutter®.  I made one side flat so it would stand.

Once it was cut out, I coated it with some Smooth Finish.

The Smooth Finish creates a much easier surface to spray paint.  It goes on just like putty.

To create the utensil holder part, I cut a rectangle in the top.  I detached it by cutting a straight line in the back.

Now, it was ready to start looking more like a football!  I sprayed multiple light coats of brown spray paint.

After it had dried, I added some white vinyl for the stitching.  I placed two small pieces of cardboard to separate the forks, knives and spoons.

I love how it turned out!  It will look so cute for our Super Bowl party!
