MATERIALS NEEDED FOR 4TH OF JULY RIBBON WREATH:

• 16 inch foam wreath form
• 3 rolls of 1.5 inch white satin ribbon
• Hot glue gun
• 2 rolls of Celebrate It 360 Satin with Glitter Dots Turquoise/White
• 2 rolls of Celebrate It 360 5/8 inch Blue Satin Ribbon 
• 2 rolls of Celebrate It 360 Grosgrain Red Ribbon, Small White Polka Dots
• 1 package of Recollections Adhesive Glitter Chipboard Letters in white

I begin each ribbon wreath by wrapping the wreath form in satin ribbon.  This allows for a crisp clean finished look instead of the foam showing.  Simply place a small dab of hot glue on the end of the ribbon and begin wrapping the foam.  When you get to the end of the roll, hot glue in place on the back of the wreath and trim any excess.  You will probably need multiple rolls of satin ribbon to cover the 16 inch wreath form.  Keep repeating the above steps until the wreath is covered.  Set aside.

Next, you will begin cutting your colored ribbon into 6 inch strips.  Only cut one roll of each color of ribbon at a time.  I barely needed any from the second rolls.

Now you will begin making your ribbon loops.  Create a circle with the ribbon around your fingers.  Hot glue the end in place.  I put on Serendipity and began rolling and gluing ribbon.

 Once all of the ribbon is cut, decide on your pattern.  I simply alternated red, blue aqua.  Hot glue the ribbon loops to your wrapped wreath.  I begin on the outside edge and work my way around the circle and towards the middle.  Keep gluing the ribbon loops until the front side of the wreath is covered.

Once the wreath is covered, turn it over to add the lettering.  Hot glue the “USA” on some bakers twine and then glue the edges of the twine to the back of the wreath.

To hang, create another ribbon loop and glue in place on the top of the back of the wreath.

I am in LOVE with this wreath!  It looks so cute with my red Ice Cream Parlor Table and Chairs!

Summer always makes me think of pool noodles and water balloons.   I cannot remember a summer from childhood that did not include one of these summer staples.  We spent all season outdoors from sun up to sun down.  Nowadays, kids want to relax indoors.  Get them outside!  For some reason, surprising someone with a water balloon is so much fun!  But did you know there are oodles of other fun things you can create?  Everything from party decorations to accessories to art projects – balloons are so versatile!  Last year, I shared these Pool Noodle Hacks for Kids and these Pool Noodle Hacks for Adults.

Most of these ideas can be created by running up to your local dollar store and purchasing a package of balloons.  I love cheap and easy projects!  And the kids can create or participate in most of these projects too!  Now they can start making summer memories of their own!

So many great ideas for parties and playing this summer!  Which idea is your favorite?  That cooler trick is beyond genius!!  And what a great way to add a little color and decor to your outdoor gathering?!  You could even do this in red, white and blue for 4th of July!!  How cute would that be?!

All you need to create these luminaries are 9 inch balloons, mason jars, sand and votive candles.  I used the smaller canning jars with the quilted crystal pattern because the smooth finish to the other mason jars kept causing the balloons to slide off.

Simply cut the neck off the balloon.  Turn mason jar upside down and stretch the balloon over the bottom of the jar.  Don’t worry if it’s not perfectly straight.  That’s what makes it look paint dipped.

I added a small amount of sand to the jar and placed a votive in the middle.

They are so fun and festive!  Imagine changing them out for 4th of July with blue balloons with stars!  So cute!

If you want to add some extra accent, try doubling up the balloons!

They look really cool at night too!

 I’m totally making this cooler!  This is perfect for float trips or lounging at the lake!  Grab a simple rubbermaid tote and a pool noodle from the dollar store and voila!  How easy is that to make?

Going to the lake is a part of life down here in the Ozarks.  We spend more time there than at the pool.  Therefore, we have oodles and oodles of pool noodles.  (That sounded so cheesy.) It seems like we collect more each year!  The Dollar Tree, Wal-mart, even Michaels are stocking them because they are such a hot ticket item!  Unless you live under a rock, you have probably encountered a pool noodle at some point in your life.  Have you seen all of the unconventional ways you can use a pool noodle?

With summer being right around the proverbial bend, you need to be prepared.  Prepared for what, you ask?  Boredom.  Kids whine and complain about school but we all know they also whine and complain when they get bored during the summer.  There are so many ways to use pool noodles.  Why not give them to the kiddos so they can get creative?  That’s way more fun and stimulating than sitting behind a video game all summer.  My son is old enough to make half of these himself.  Here are 10+ Pool Noodle Hacks for Kids!
