Our Salted Caramel Ice Cream Float is a new twist on an old favorite!  It’s sure to cool you off during these hot summer months!

Cool off this summer with a Salted Caramel Ice Cream Float!

When I saw the Blue Bunny Salted Caramel Ice Cream at the store the other day, I had to have it.  I love salted caramel!  One of our favorite summer treats is ice cream floats.  Andy’s Frozen Custard has a concrete they make that has salted caramel, bits of pretzels and chocolate.  This recipe was inspired by that!  And when you mix salty and sweet together, OMG.  It’s amazing.  If you love salted caramel, you will love this ice cream float!

Salted Caramel Ice Cream Float

Ingredients:

  • Blue Bunny Salted Caramel Ice Cream
  • Root Beer (or hard root beer)
  • Caramel syrup
  • Pretzels (optional)

Directions:

  • Add three scoops of salted caramel ice cream to glass.
  • Pour root beer over ice cream.
  • Top with caramel syrup.
  • Add pretzels for an extra crunch!

We tried it with Coca Cola and with root beer.  The caramel flavoring in the Coke was too much for us.  We liked the flavor balance of the ice cream with the root beer.  But you can use whatever you want!  The ice cream is pretty rich so if you have a different salted caramel ice cream you like better, try it!

The pretzels are my favorite topping!  I love the added punch of the salt from the pretzel.  Plus it gives the ice cream a nice crunch.  You can totally skip the pretzels but I encourage you to give it a shot!  You will NOT be disappointed!

If you want to put an adult twist on it, use the alcoholic Not Your Dad’s Root Beer!  But be careful.  Honestly, you cannot tell the difference between it and regular root beer.
