I am so over the rainy, dreary days of winter.  I have the gray blahs.  I need color!  I need sunshine!  I need spring!  I created this Hello Sunshine Spring Wreath to usher in spring.  Hopefully, Mother Nature takes a cue and follows suit!  It’s the perfect door decoration to greet guests this spring and summer!

I created this wreath much like I created my Back to School Ruler Wreath.  In case you missed it, click HERE!

I found these cedar shims at Home Depot.  Then I grabbed a wooden circle and yellow paint from Wal-mart.  The paint is actually three different colors of yellow – Pale Daffodil, Sunny Day, and Yellow Flame.  I mean how perfect is that?!

I cut 15 shims with my miter saw.  They measure 15 inches each, so I cut them at the 8 inch mark.

I painted the wooden circle and shims in the different shades of yellow.  (For those interested in those details, I used Sunny Day for the circle, Yellow Flame for the shorter sun rays, and Pale Daffodil for the longer sun rays.)

Once everything dried, I began gluing the sun rays to the wooden circle.

Allow the wood glue to set for about an hour.  Once that had cured, I added the longer rays and glued them in place.  (See the Ruler wreath post for more specifics.)

My favorite part of this wreath is the cute hello banner!  I painted the little wooden squares aqua and then cut out the letters on my Cricut using this font.

You all know I love my wreaths.  In fact, they are like my children.  I have a hard time choosing a favorite.  Each time I create a new one, it takes over the #1 spot in my heart.  That’s how I feel about my Hello Sunshine Spring Wreath!  I just LOVE it!  It’s so bright and cheery!  This wreath can stay up all spring and summer long!
