Create your own Washi Tape Halloween Frame! Tutorial at createcraftlove.com

Is anyone getting sick of Halloween yet?  I hope not because I have a super easy and quick project for you today!  My Washi Tape Halloween Frame is perfect for displaying pictures of your cute little ones in their Halloween best!

Materials needed to make your own Washi Tape Halloween Frame

Frame
Paint and paintbrush
Washi tape
Exacto knife
Scrapbook embellishments

supplies needed

I began by painting my frame.  Depending on the type of washi tape you use, this step may not be necessary but since you can see through the white part of the chevron, I would advise it.

paint your frame

A couple of weeks ago, I got this adorable black and white chevron washi tape and this cute orange striped washi tape from Pick Your Plum.
Start by applying the washi tape to the painted frame.

start applying washi tape to the painted frame

Be sure to match up your lines so the chevrons look uniform.  Continue applying the washi tape until the frame is covered.

line up your edges

Once the frame is covered, flip the frame over to cut off the excess in the middle.

turn frame and trim

Be sure to hold your tape taut as you are cutting.  Otherwise, the tape will wrinkle and displace on the other side.  After the middle is trimmed, turn your frame back over.

trim the edges

Carefully trim the edges (using the beveled groove as a straight line.

Next, apply the orange striped washi tape to the edges.

trimming the edges

Smooth the washi tape over the ridges and trim the corners.
To finish it off, add your scrapbook embellishments!

Aren’t those glitter spiders adorable?  Love them!

The whole thing (minus the painting) took ten minutes.  And you wanna know the best part?  Since washi tape is easily removed, I can re-use the frame over and over again – like for Valentine’s Day!

Do you washi?
