Have you ever started a project and realized that something was missing? Sure, we all have. When I was creating my spring mantel, I noticed it looked kind of naked and needed something to spruce it up. An easy way to achieve that extra look is by adding small things such as candles and knick knacks. These Glass Etched Votives are a fun way to personalize your space and add a little something extra!
Wanna make your own Glass Etched Votives?
Here’s what you need:
Votives and candles (99 cents each at Michaels)
Cricut Explore
Adhesive vinyl
Plastic gloves
Protective eye wear
Sponge brush
Armour Etch
A warning about glass etching cream: Etching cream is a caustic to the skin and eyes. Be sure to work in a well ventilated area. Use gloves and protective eye wear.
Pick out your design in Cricut Design Space. Size your image to fit the glass surface you are etching. Cut the vinyl image and weed out any excess vinyl. This will be your stencil.
Wash the surface you are etching with soap and water. Dry completely with a towel. Do not use glass cleaner as this can leave a film on the glass and hinder the etching process.
Carefully apply the adhesive vinyl stencil to votive. Be sure to get out all the bubbles and wrinkles in the adhesive vinyl otherwise the Armour Etch will bleed under the vinyl and distort your image on the glass.
I would love if you PIN this image of the Glass Etched Votives!!
