This Star Cake Stand costs under $2 to make and will add a little flare to your summer party decor!

Happy Memorial Day!  I hope that whatever you are up to today, you take a moment and remember those who fought and died while protecting our freedoms.  Thank you to our troops both active and those no longer with us!

While perusing the Dollar Tree, I came across these cute blue melamine star platters.  I wanted to spruce it up a bit and I had yet to try my hand at the candlestick turned cake platter.

You only need three things to create this platter – star melamine platter, candlestick, and E6000 glue.

This post contains affiliate links for your convenience.

If this is your first time using E6000, here are a couple of things to remember.  This is an industrial strength adhesive and it has a very strong odor.  Be sure to use in a well ventilated area, away from children.

Simply apply the E6000 glue to the top of the candlestick.  Turn the platter over and adhere the candlestick to the center of the platter.  There is a round impression in the center of this platter which made centering it super easy.

It takes about 24 hours to cure.  Once it finishes drying, it is ready to go!

This cake stand is not dishwasher safe.  Hand wash only!

Isn’t this Star Cake Stand perfect for Memorial Day and Fourth of July?!  I LOVE it!!

You could totally whip this up before your cookout tonight!

Happy Memorial Day!
