Chocolate Cobbler

A deliciously gooey fudge-y middle with a crunchy outer layer!

Ingredients

Bottom Layer:

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 6 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 6 tbsp melted butter unsalted
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Top Layer:

  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup boiling water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, white sugar, brown sugar, cocoa powder and salt.
  3. In a separate bow, whisk milk, melted butter, and vanilla.
  4. Pour the liquid over the dry mixture and mix. The final product should be thick resembling a brownie batter.
  5. Pour the batter in a pan or cast iron skillet.
  6. Mix the ingredients for the top layer and sprinkle evenly over the batter. Add the boiling water to the top without stirring and place in 350 degree oven for 40 minutes.
