I’m obsessed, I tell you. OBSESSED! Who knew there were so many things you can do with a pool noodle? These little pieces of floating foam heaven can be used for anything! I love love love the versatility of them! We were having our night swim in the backyard and I thought it would be fun to throw in a couple of these Pool Noodle Luminaries. (And when I say backyard night swim, I mean in the inflatable wading pool from Wal-Mart. We aren’t fancy.) They are so easy to put together! And don’t worry, we’ll talk about protecting that battery!
Seriously. How cute are these?! Who knew such a simple project could make such a big splash? The colors are bright and summer-y! Plus they look amazing in the dark!
How to Make Pool Noodle Luminaries
To make these cute floating pool candles, you will need:
LED tea lights
Scissors
Pool noodles

When I originally posted these, I was concerned about the battery cover being flooded with water. I had this whole process for covering the base with plastic wrap to protect it from the water. The pool noodles keep the LED candles far above the water so they will not be soaked. But if you’re worried, buy the dollar store ones so they are easily disposable.

Place the tea light in the pool noodle. You may have to stretch the center of the pool noodle a little in order to get the candle the center of the pool noodle. Once the candle is set in the middle of the pool noodle, the foam will re-expand and encase the LED candle.

Simple, easy and cute! I love it when a project comes together so quickly! These will be the talk of your party!

I love how these pool noodle lights reflect on the water! Don’t they look pretty?
You could even use these in a shallow bowl with a small amount of water in it on a table. It would be a cute centerpiece on the deck for cookouts or other summer gatherings!
