This was so easy to put together!  Grab some beauty essentials and fill with love!

Begin by filling the mason jar with a pedicure kit, some red EOS, and red nail polish.  A little something for her to pamper herself.  Throw in some Valentine chocolates to “sweeten” the deal.

To decorate the mason jar, I grabbed a bunch of Valentine scrapbook items from Michaels.  I used my 2 inch circle punch to punch out these gift bags.

Use the punched piece of paper on the top of the mason jar lid.

 I added this cute Valentine pennant banner and some baker’s twine to complete the package.

I love the idea of celebrating each other as women!!

What girl wouldn’t love to get a little Valentine from her best friend? Gifting a Galentine Valentine might just be a new tradition to add to your February plans … such a sweet and simple gesture!

You can grow your own Crystal Hearts too by following these simple steps!

First, the important stuff.  Children should be monitored closely when dealing with chemicals.  These are NOT edible.  I repeat, NOT EDIBLE.

Here’s what you need to grow your own Crystal Hearts!

• Borax (Wal-mart carries it by the laundry detergent)
• Water
• Pipe cleaners
• Fishing line
• Wood skewers
• Quart size mason jar or large pot
• Food coloring (optional)

1. Shape your pipe cleaner into a heart.  Fold pipe cleaner in half.  Then bring the ends together and twist forming the heart.
2. Attach a piece of fishing line to the heart shaped pipe cleaner.  Hang the heart from the wood skewer over the mason jar.
3. Boil hot water.  The ratio of water to borax is 3 cups water to 9 tablespoons of borax.
4. Once water is boiling, add borax. 
5. Stir until borax is completely dissolved in the water.
6. Pour mixture into the mason jar.  Be sure the pipe cleaner is not touching the sides or bottom of the jar.
7. Optional:  If you want to use food coloring, now would be the time to add it to the mixture.  There is no exact amount of food coloring to add.  It will vary from brand to brand.  More is probably better than less.
8. Allow to sit in mixture over night.
9. Remove from the mixture.  The crystal will detach easily from the fishing line for a nice clean shape.

We did not add any food coloring to these hearts.  I love how you can see the red through the crystals.

Pretty sure this is my new favorite Valentine post of all time!  These Mini Heart Pinatas were so much fun to make.  You can totally get the kids involved too!  Makes a great project for classroom parties this Valentine’s Day!

Valentines Heart from House that Lars Built

I absolutely love the cute Valentines Heart project from House with Lars Built that is featured on Design Space!  Her inspiration was red felt hearts she saw in the markets in Mexico City.  I improvised and created these Mini Heart Pinatas from her heart design.

In Design Space, I deleted the embellishments on the heart box and contoured any additional cuts so we were just left with the box.  The image includes an extra heart layer which is what I used to create the pinata look.  I cut the heart from white kraft board.  For the heart box I chose to use pink.  

Once your design is cut, set the box aside.  We are going to begin by working on the pinata portion.  

1. I used 5 different colors of tissue paper.  Cut a strip measuring 1.5 x 5 inches from each color.
2. Begin from the bottom of the heart and using your glue stick, glue an area about 1 inch in length.  The next piece of tissue paper will be glued right above the last one (about the width of the glue stick).  
3. Continue this process until the heart is covered with layered tissue paper.
4. Trim away excess tissue paper.
5. This is what the trimmed heart should look like.
6. Now starting at the top of the heart, begin cutting fringe.  Work your way down each layer.  Lightly fluff the fringe to make it appear curly.

Glue the heart pinata to the box.

Turn the box over and fold along the scored lines.

Turn box back over (pinata side facing up) and add a small amount of hot glue to the tabs on the heart.  Fold the long piece up and attach the tabs to the inside of the strip.

Next, fill with your favorite Valentine candy! (I had some conversation hearts laying around from a previous project I used but these are by no means my favorite candy.)

To close the box, bring the side together and attach ends together where the small cut is.  Hot glue those edges to the inside of the heart to keep the box closed.  Finally add a small piece of ribbon to the top of the heart.

I am in love with these!  They are so bright and colorful!  They definitely make me smile.

Ummmmm….yeah!  And thus, the Cupcake Liner Wreath was born.

Wanna make your own Cupcake Liner Wreath?

• Here’s what you need:
• 50 Cupcake liner flowers = 250 cupcake liners
• Round foam wreath form
• Ribbon
• Wooden heart embellishment (optional)

To begin making the cupcake liner flowers, I used the same tutorial I used for the bows.  You can find that here.  I made about ten a day until I made enough.  Once all the flowers were made, I cut the wire down to one inch.  Lay out your foam wreath form and begin sticking them in the foam.  I lined the inside of the wreath first and worked my way outward as you will see in the picture below.

A couple of tips that made this easier for me…

1. Make sure all of your flowers are in the same stage of “bloom”.  I had some that were “too bloomed” and you could see right down the middle and some that looked like they had just budded.  Try to keep them similar or it will look wonky.
2. Remove some of the flowers to adhere the heart.  Otherwise it will pull the flowers out as it pulls the whole wreath to the floor resulting in lots of tears.  {I tell you this from personal experience.}  I found that little wooden heart at Michael’s and painted it.
3. Do not hang outside!  It is too fragile.  This is definitely an inside wreath but this was the best place to take my picture!

Doesn’t it look like real flowers?  I love it!

This definitely takes a lot of patience but I just love how feminine and Valentine-y it looks!  {Is Valentine-y a word?  LOL}

Make your own Cupid’s Arrow Valentine’s Day Wreath

• Yarn
• Heart shaped foam wreath form
• Dawl rod
• Red felt
• Cardboard
• Hot glue gun
• Ribbon

Begin by wrapping your heart wreath form with yarn Place a drop of hot glue on the back of the wreath form. Adhere the end of the yarn to the hot glue and allow to dry. Once dry, begin wrapping your yarn around the form. I find it is easiest to leave the yarn in the skein and loosen a length of yarn to work with at a time. It makes it easier to manage when going through the middle of the wreath.

Once you have completely covered the heart wreath form in yarn, cut the yarn and adhere the end to the back to the wreath with another small drop of hot glue.

To create the arrow, pierce the dawl rod through the wreath. Cut a heart out of red felt and back with cardboard so it can hold up to the outdoor elements. Do the same thing to create the fletching on the end of the arrow.

Finish the wreath by adding some pretty ribbon to hang on your door!

Total time: 2 hours (mostly because wrapping the yarn takes some patience and time)
Cost: $10

Is that not the cutest?! It goes great with my farmhouse decor!

My Cupid’s Arrow Wreath and Cupcake Liner Wreath are among my wreaths of Valentine’s past.  Originally, I had planned on making this wreath for winter and then changing it for Valentine’s Day.  Unfortunately, time got away from me and I did not make the winter wreath.

All you need to create your own Yarn Wrapped Valentine Wreath is:

• Foam wreath form (with rounded edges)
• White minky yarn
• Valentine ornament
• Hot glue gun
• Scissors
• Red ribbon (for hanger)

Place a dob of hot glue on back of the wreath form and glue the end of the yarn in place.

Begin wrapping the yarn around the wreath.  Keep the yarn tight and close to each other so as not to let any of the wreath form show through.

Now sit down and watch your favorite show.  It will take about 30 minutes to wrap the entire wreath.

After you’ve finished wrapping, you will want to cut the yarn and hot glue in place.  BUT BEFORE YOU DO THAT – thread the yarn through the ornament ribbon.  This will allow the ornament to hang in the middle.

OK now you can glue the end in place.

Finally, we are going to make a hanger.  Cut about a 4 inch piece of ribbon.  Fold the ends together and hot glue.  Once that dries, you will hot glue the ribbon hanger to the back of the wreath.  Right over where you glue the end of the yarn in place.

If you want to change it out and make a winter wreath instead, carefully pull off the hanger and end of the yarn.  Switch out the ornament with a white or silver snowflake and create a white ribbon hanger.

Easy peasy!

I love how simple it is.  It looks pure, just like unconditional love.

I love making farmhouse signs for my house!  These days, my walls are filled with them.  I decided to branch out and start making them for all of the holidays too!  This Farmhouse Valentine Decor is super easy to make and will look great if farmhouse style is your jam.

Cricut Explore or Maker
Red iron on vinyl
Light grip mat
Basic tool set
Transfer tape
Fine point blade
6×6 blank wooden sign (found this one at Wal-mart)

If you’ve never used iron on vinyl with wood, start HERE!

Open the above image in Design Space.  Size the image to 5 inches in width.  Send to cut and mirror the image.  Apply the iron on vinyl to the light grip mat, shiny side down.  Cut image.

Once the image has completed cutting, carefully weed away any excess vinyl.

Follow the instructions in the aforementioned post about applying iron on vinyl to wood.  (This is one of my favorite crafting short cuts!)

I used my cute little 6×7 EasyPress for this project!  I adore that little fellow!  He is perfect for these smaller projects!

Don’t forget to warm up the wood first.  This will help the vinyl to adhere.  No worries if it messes up.  You can peel the iron on vinyl off and reapply if needed.  (Way easier than repainting if you ask me!)

Set your EasyPress to 300 degrees for 40 seconds and follow the directions in the other post.

I LOVE how this turned out!  I have it hanging on the wall in my entryway.  It’s the perfect pop of color for the holiday and goes well with all of my other farmhouse decor.

We all have those best friends who you wouldn’t trade for the world.  This Valentine’s Day show the girls how much you love them by making them this cute Galentine Wine Glass!  It is so easy to make and will put a smile on their face.

Materials needed for Galentine Wine Glass

Cricut Explore or Maker
Pink and black adhesive vinyl
Light grip mat
Basic tool set
Transfer tape
Fine point blade
Wine glass

1. Begin by downloading the free file below and upload into Cricut Design Space.
2. Measure your wine glass and size image appropriately in the software.
3. Once finalized, send the image to cut and follow directions for cutting.  
4. Weed excess vinyl away from image using the basic tool set.
5. Peel back transfer tape and place directly over the image.  Use the scraper tool to burnish image to the transfer tape.  Gently peel the transfer tape away from the vinyl backing.  The vinyl image should now be on the transfer tape.
6. Arrange the transfer tape with the vinyl image on the wine glass.  Burnish with scraper tool to adhere to the wine glass.
7. Carefully peel back the transfer tape.  Your image should now be affixed to the wine glass.
