Do you wanna build a snowman? {Sorry. I couldn’t help myself.}
Christmas is coming whether you want to admit it or not. I love crafting up holiday decor for my list of recipients. But this girl has a budget she needs to stay within so sometimes you have to get a little creative. This Foam Block Snowman is an easy and affordable DIY gift idea for the holidays!
This little guy was so much fun to make!
Materials needed to build your own Foam Block Snowman:
Floracraft® Make It Fun® Foam Block – 12 inches x 4 inches x 2 inches
Floracraft® Diamond Dust® Glitter
Mod Podge/sponge brush
Felt top hat
Twigs
Christmas Ribbon
Mini Christmas lights
Black buttons
Hot glue gun
First things first. Prepare your foam block to look like snow!
I covered my foam block with decoupage. Lay down a cookie sheet and lightly dust the decoupaged area with Floracraft® Diamond Dust® Glitter. Shake off any extra. Allow to dry. Repeat this process until entire foam block is covered.
After the block has dried, begin gluing all of your snowman’s accessories in place. I used black buttons for eyes and mini Christmas lights for the nose. Hot glue these in place on the front of your covered foam block. I added Christmas ribbon for the scarf and twigs for arms. Last but not least, glue your top hat in place.
Isn’t he precious?! Who wouldn’t want to receive this cutie?
I just love how he turned out! You can swap out the Christmas ribbon scarf for a plaid or checked scarf to keep him out all winter long.
I received free product and compensation for the purpose of this post. You can read my full disclosure here.
