Paper Flower Garland

This Paper Flower Garland is the final piece to my Springtime Mantel.  A couple of weeks ago the free shape of the week at Silhouette was this beautiful 3D flower!  I knew I had to make something to incorporate it!  I just love the paper they chose and the delicate rose pattern!  The Paper Flower Garland not only completes the look but was super easy to make!

Wanna make your own Paper Flower Garland?

Here’s what you need:
What you need:
Scrapbook paper (of your choosing)
Small screwdriver (what? – I’ll explain in a minute)
DMC floss
I started by cutting the basic shape on my Cameo.

Then I wrapped the shape around a small paintbrush (starting with the small end).IMG_0509 copy
{It doesn’t have to be tight or straight or pretty – just make it curl!}
I wrapped it all the way to the end.

Then let it uncurl.  Place a glob of hot glue on the fat end of the shape.

Then just let if fall naturally – make sure all the edges adhere.  {It will if you used as much glue as I did!  lol}
To give it a little more definition, I used my paint brush to curl the edges of the petals.

Then I cut out a circle and glued the flower to it.

Now here’s where the small screwdriver makes an appearance.  I needed a small hole punch.  So I improvised a little!  I punched a small hole with my small screwdriver and the Dryel stain remover pad!  HAHAHA
Then I threaded the DMC floss and all finished!

I’m sitting here looking at it as I write this post and I am in love!
