Can you believe it’s almost May?! Where has the year gone? Mother’s Day is just around the corner! Are you prepared to pamper that special mama in YOUR life? What are you making Mom? I’ve got you covered! Check out this easy Mother’s Day Subway Art!
Wanna make your own Mother’s Day Subway Art?
Here’s what you need:
11×14 inch unfinished wooden plaque
Die cutting machine
Vinyl/transfer tape
Two contrasting acrylic paint colors
Paint brush
Scrapbook hook
Begin by painting your wooden plaque in the color you want your letters. {In my case, I chose white.}
I created the template for my Mother’s Day Subway Art on my die cut machine and cut out on vinyl. Using your scrapbook hook, pull out the centers of the letters and then peel away the remaining vinyl. Apply the vinyl to the wood using the transfer paper.
Once your vinyl is applied and secure, begin painting with the other paint color. It took me about two coats of the turquoise before it was completely covered.
Allow about an hour to dry completely before removing the vinyl. Once you are sure it is dry, use the scrapbook hook to carefully peel off the vinyl.
If needed, touch up where the top color bled through.
I absolutely LOVE how this turned out! It’s the perfect way to say “Mom” in ANY language!
I had to include “Momma” because that is what Reed calls me. =) Love that little booger!!
