Wanna make your own Mod Podge Keychains?
Here’s what you need:
Wooden circles with hole
Key chain ring
Jump rings and needlenose pliers
Scrapbook paper, pencil and scissors
Hot glue gun
Paint and paint brush
Embellishment of your choice
I started out by tracing the wooden circles on the back of my scrapbook paper. Make sure to mark where the hole is so you can use your regular hole punch to make a place for the hole.
Cut out the traced circle. (This would be much easier with a one inch circle hole punch. But alas, I only have a two inch punch…booooo.)
Set the paper circles aside.
Using a paint color of your choosing, paint the wooden circle (edges, hole, and flat side). This took about 4 coats to cover with the cream color I chose.
|This was after one coat – obviously not enough…LOL|
Once all the coats have been applied and have dried, mod podge the scrapbook circle to the painted wooden circle.
After the Mod Podge dries, break out the glue gun and hot glue your embellishments. I chose to use the adorable cabuchons that came with the grab box!
Next, take the jump rings and pry them apart with a pair of needlenose pliers.
Slip the keychain ring in the opening.
Then slip the wooden circle on the jump ring. Using your needlenose pliers, squeeze the jump ring shut.
That’s it! You are finished!
