This Flower Adorned Mother’s Day Frame is the perfect gift for that special mama in your life! My own mother passed away over twenty years ago. Mother’s Day was always painful. I hated going to church and all the moms standing up. I hated seeing the cards in the stores. I hated the art projects we made in school. I felt like I was missing out on something. We tried to treat it like any other day but it was hard. As a mother, this day means so much more to me now, than it ever has. It reminds me how precious life is (his, mine, our family) and to take time out to appreciate it. I love being a mother! And to honor the women who are mothers in my life, I made this Flower Adorned Mother’s Day Frame.
In honor of my mother, I decided to celebrate motherhood and recognize the women in my life that are also part of the special club.
My mother-in-law lives four hours away and we don’t see them very often. I wanted to make her something special. So I journeyed to my second home (Michael’s) and found this cute 12×12 frame.
Took this lovely unfinished frame and gave it two coats of black acrylic paint.
While it dried, I made these fabric flowers out of extra fabric I had leftover.
Then I busted out my handy dandy Cameo and the vinyl! (I had such a hard time getting the vinyl to transfer to the wood! It stuck to the transfer paper better than the wood. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated…)
After several failed attempts (and 2 feet of vinyl later) I was able to get the wording on the frame. Once that was in place, I mod podged the heck out of it to make sure it stayed.
When it was dry, I hot glued the flowers on and picked out a super cute pic of all the grandkids!
I love how this turned out and I hope Mary likes it too!
Happy Mother’s Day to all of you!
