The warm fall colors are such a contrast to the bright summer colors. I love this time of transition. That being said, I honestly do not know why this orange and brown plaid ribbon was screaming my name. I think it was because I am so ready for fall and I got sucked in at Michaels. I’ve been imagining my fall porch since I bought this ribbon. Rustic with warm hues splashed around, maybe a hay bale or two. This Burlap and Plaid Fall Wreath is the perfect way to greet guests this autumn.
Here’s what you need to make your own wreath:
Foam wreath form
Plaid ribbon (2 rolls)
Burlap flowers
Plain burlap ribbon
Hot glue gun
Scissors
Begin by hot gluing the end of your plaid ribbon to the back of the foam wreath form.
Wrap the wreath with the ribbon. Overlap the ribbon a little so none of the foam shows through.
Continue wrapping the wreath until it is completely covered. You will probably need to grab the second roll about half way through the wrapping process. When you reach the end of the wreath, trim the excess ribbon and hot glue the end in place.
Next, gather your burlap flowers. I found these next to the scrapbooking embellishments.
Start by hot gluing the large flower onto the wreath.
Then work your way out in both directions with the remaining flowers. I used the button ones next to the large flower and filled in with the rosettes.
I love the farmhouse, down home, country feel of this wreath. It just feels so inviting! Just wait until you see my Wooden Fall Sign! It’s coming in the weeks ahead.
I’d love for you to pin this image!
