This Canning Lid and Washi Tape Halloween Wreath is so much fun to make!
I saw the cutest idea for a Halloween wreath in one of the craft magazines last weekend. I went to the store, bought canning lids, covered them in washi tape and placed them on the wire as the magazine suggested. It was sad. The wreath did not keep it’s form and I was frustrated. I put it aside and decided to think about how to stabilize it. I’m going to show you my shortcut to this Canning Lid and Washi Tape Halloween Wreath!
Materials needed to make your own Canning Lid and Washi Tape Halloween Wreath
Canning rings (72 total)
Washi tape
Mod Podge
14 inch round foam wreath form
2 inch black ribbon
Scissors
Hot glue gun
Begin by cutting your wreath form.
This will allow you to slide the rings onto the wreath form.
I wrapped my wreath form in black ribbon. Attach each end with hot glue.
Wrap the washi tape around the canning ring.
I added a little Mod Podge to the edges of the washi tape so it wouldn’t peel off.
Be sure to put on a good movie and get busy decorating all of those canning rings!
Once they are completed and dry, begin placing them on the wreath form. Be gentle or the foam will break. (This was take 2!)
When the wreath is full, add a loop of ribbon as a hanger. You don’t need to do anything to close the wreath. The rings are large enough that they will not slip through!
Finally add a pretty bow and it’s done!
Seriously. This thing is adorable! I’m so in love with it!
