Announcing: Our Quilt Along

Today, we have a super fun announcement to make – are you ready for it?

Quilt Along via createcraftlove.com and becomingmartha.com #quilting

That’s right!  Myself and Sarah from Becoming Martha are hosting a quilt along – and we would love to have you join us!

We will be announcing your supply list next week, and we will wait until we return from SNAP to start the first week of the process and start week 1 on May 3.  That will give you a lot of time to pick a set of patterns, order fabric if you need to, and make sure you have everything you need to create your own gorgeous quilt.

This just cracked me right up - via HandmadeRyanGosling

We know that a lot of people are intimidated by creating a quilt – and for that purpose, we have chosen a simpler pattern that offers a lot of flexibility and choice.  Please don’t be scared!  We will all be going through this together, and we are there to help each other.  In fact, we will be inviting all of the quilt along participants to a special facebook group where we can all interact, upload photos of our process, and help each other out.  Are you a quilting pro?  We would love to have you too!  Then, during the last week, we will have a big reveal party and invite everyone to link up and show their creations off!

Sound fun?  Just leave a comment with your email in case we need to contact you and invite you to join the exclusive, “cool-kids-only” Facebook group!  And grab a button while you are here to share the fun with all of your friends – make sure you invite them all to join us.  We can’t wait to start!

  1. Fun! Fun! Hopefully I can take on another quilting project! I have 4 in progress right now! Luckily one is almost complete!

    • Jill @ Create.Craft.Love. says:

Four?! You are a machine! I can never focus on more than one at a time. Thankfully mine is almost complete for the QAL – otherwise, there would be nothing to post! LOL

  2. Kimberly G says:

sign me up, this will be my first quilt and have always wanted to try it looking forward to it. Thanks :)

  3. I am so excited. I will be joining in. I am still very new to quilting, so this will be great.

  4. So excited about this Jill! I already left my email on Sarah’s page, but wanted to stop by and say how excited I am! I love quilt alongs! It’s how I made my first quilt… I might run behind since we will probably be moving in that time frame, but I’m dying to make another quilt!

  5. This sounds like a blast!

  6. Awesome! I’m in! I just finished my first quilt (see it here: http://www.dejongdreamhouse.com/2013/04/rag-quilt-tutorial-for-sewing-newbie.html) and am working on my second, which I am clearly doing the hard way. I just learned about the quilting (the process of attaching the layers, not the blanket itself!) and I have no idea how to do that. I’m going to start another quilt for this project.

  7. Michelle says:

I’ve made a few quilts but not in a while. I’ll join and see if this will motivate me to do it again.

  8. Carol G says:

I’d love to join the quilt a long. Thank you for the invitation.

  9. Ok, I’m in! This will be a first! Thanks for hosting!

  10. I haven’t made a quilt for a couple of years. I need to make one for 3 of my kids! Hopefully this will get me motivated to get at least one made.:) Sounds like it will be fun. :)

    • Jill @ Create.Craft.Love. says:

Yay!! I’m so excited you are going to join us, Kadie!! Will send you the FB invite!

  11. I would love to join in but my poor sewing machine is dead, if I don’t get in back from the shop in time, I will just be following along and pinning for the future!!! Looking forward to this!!

Just dropping in from The Creative Headquarters Blog hop to make sure I am following you in all ways possible:))) I would love to also invite you to join Lets Get Social Sunday where you can link up your blog and all your social sites to make new friends and gain more followers!! (live right now)

    Hugs

    • Jill @ Create.Craft.Love. says:

Thanks so much for stopping by, Evelyn! Do you still want an invite to the FB group? Here’s praying for your sick sewing machine!

  12. OK, I’m in! I just hope I can keep up with ya’ll! mydisorganizedlife@gmail.com

  13. Count me in. I have made baby quilts before, but never anything bigger than a twin. It sounds like an adventure!

    • Jill @ Create.Craft.Love. says:

Yay! Will send you the FB group invite! There are all levels of expertise in that group and they are ready to get sewing!

  14. I’ve just started sewing, but I’ve ALWAYS wanted to learn how to quilt… I’m kind of nervous about joining–but I’ll give it a shot! My email is yagottahaveahobby@gmail.com :)

  15. Sounds like fun! I have started a quilt but never finished. Maybe this will push me to finish.

  16. I will join and try to keep up with all the steps.

  17. LOVE, LOVE this idea!! Will make me sew the quilt for my baby that is long, love over due!!

  18. Count me in!! Sounds fun, I’ve never done a quilt before. Lots of small patchwork goodies, mug rugs, and purses, but I’ve always been intimidated by the real thing! Yay!

    Sarah

  19. Finishing a quilt in 5 weeks sounds scary to me, but I’m up for the challenge! I’ve never done a quilt-a-long so I’m excited!

  20. Sounds interesting! Ok, count me in!
