Will this Potty Treats Jar encourage potty training?
Confession:
I haven’t forced the potty training issue. I don’t have an issue with changing diapers. {Maybe it’s the nurse in me.} Recently, The hubs and I were talking and I asked him if we should start. He said, “He’ll go when he’s ready.”
Well guess what? He did! Last Friday at daycare, he just started going on the potty during potty breaks. He was dry ALL day! I was shocked. I really thought I needed to initiate something!
What I quickly realized was I needed to REINFORCE something…
A couple of months ago, I saw this simple potty treat pin from Little Lucy Lu.
What a cute, adorable idea!
The Cameo and I had a date planned anyway, so I whipped out the vinyl and made a fun little treat jar for the buddy! I used my new favorite font – Gilligan’s Island! {Singing: A three hour tour..}

We have one of those too. I made one for grandma’s house, day care and our house. You do what you have to do, right?
Great idea! We did the M&M thing, and also did charts– they got a sticker for everytime they went potty and then at the end of the week got an “extra” special treat… Hot Wheel car, Barbie doll outfit, etc…

We are still trying to get Abbie to potty train. Girls are harder than boys! I think the jar turned out super cute:)
SO cute! Skittles have played a major factor in the potty-training of 3 of my kids
I dont initiate anymore either…I figure they will let me know!
I am definitely doing this for my little girl when we get to that stage, thanks for sharing!!
So cute! M&Ms worked like a charm when i potty trained my youngest. Wish i would have made a cute jar. cutestdollsever.blogspot.com
This is a great idea for the jar! We’re going to be starting next week!
I totally need to make this! We used M&M’s with our first son and soon it will be time to begin potty training with little brother…thanks for the idea!
