Letter Art {Dad’s Day Gift}

Have you seen the Letter Art photos floating around the world wide web?  There are oodles of websites out there that specialize in this type of art.  However, they range in cost from $60 to $200.  Yikes!  I don’t know about you but that’s a little out of my price range.
Well, this sparked my DIY/crafter mind to think “I can do that!”  I just had to get a little creative…

One of my husband’s favorite things to do with the buddy is to go to the playground.  They both love being outside and being rambunctious.  Therefore, I decided it was the perfect place to garner some inspiration.

{I also took some photographs around the outside of our house so I had plenty from which to choose.}

Here are some samples of “letters”

“D”

1.  Top of a Little Tike’s playhouse
2.  Climbing apparatus
3.  Baby/toddler swing
4.  Air vent on our garage

 ”A”

1.  Pavillion
2.  Mailbox post

“Y”

1.  Toadstool climbing thing
2.  Light fixture

I love, love, love how this turned out!  And it’s totally original and personal too!

Total cost:  $15 (frame was on sale at Michaels and I printed the pics)

This is probably one of my favorite photo projects that I have ever attempted/created!

I think I picked the best letter combo.  What do you guys think?

  1. This is really cool and I love it!!! Its pretty nice when you can look at things from a different perspective. You did a great job. If only I had the time to spend time with a camera looking at the world through its lens.
    Thanks for sharing and maybe I’ll give it a try someday.
