Simple DIY Magnets

These Simple DIY Magnets are an easy ten minute craft!  You didn’t think I would make this adorable magnetic chalkboard and not outfit it with cute matching magnets, did you??  =) Since I had some fabric leftover from making my fabric flowers, I decided to make coordinating magnets!

Wanna make your own Simple DIY Magnets?

Here’s what you need:
Clear jumbo floral gems
Flexible magnets
Hot glue
Fabric
Scissors
Mod Podge and foam brush
I started by tracing the jumbo gems onto the fabric.

Cut out the traced shapes.

Apply Mod Podge to the flat back of the floral gem.

Adhere the fabric (right side down) to the Mod Podged (is that a word??) side of the gem.

Once dry, it’s time to whip out the ol’ glue gun.  Apply generous dollop of glue to the back of the gem.

Apply the magnet.

That’s it!  So easy!  It took me ten minutes to make six of these!

They are super cute in person!  Unfortunately they do not photograph well….LOL

  1. Is this a clear gem? I think the photo essay DIY project explains pretty much everything, but it would be good to have a short sentence of clarification. Really a cute project, though!
